Brittany Clay
Brittany Clay

Brittany Clay was enrolled in The Young Women's Leadership Academy (YWLA), in Fort Worth, Texas. Along with the YWLA, Marshalling Resources had the pleasure of watching Brittany grow into a confident, self assured young lady. She smiled in the face of adversity and always managed to overcome everything life threw at her.

Due to health issues, Brittany missed the majority of her junior year. But even with that, she never missed a beat. She stayed abreast of her studies and continued to maintain a GPA of 4.12. As a result of her hard work, determination, and service, she was inducted into the National Honor Society. Her focus in life was to give back to her community.

She had a spirit that was indomitable. She was a walking, talking light to others and shone as bright as a diamond. There was nothing more empowering than to hear Brittany recite poetry that she had composed herself.

For the last two years of her life, Brittany had a vigorous fight with cancer yet she never allowed what she was feeling to deter her from her dreams and goals; one of which was to attend college. Marshalling Resources was able to provide a scholarship to help with that dream. But during her freshman year of college, the cancer became too aggressive for this young leader and she passed away in October 2020.

Brittany exemplified heart, passion and determination...and we still marvel at her tenacity.

In that spirit, Marshalling Resources offers the BRITTANY CLAY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD to the student that we believe has overcome challenging obstacles and overwhelming situations in a determined pursuit of their goals.
